How to:Listen to podcasts

Listening to your favorite podcasts has got a whole lot easier.Now you can listen to podcasts from the comfort of your home.Nokia podcasting application comes preinstalled on nokia 5800,nokia 5230,n97 and other symbian^1 devices.

The nokia podcasting application is present on music folder in the main menu.There is abuiltin directory where you can see featured nokia podcasts,video podcats. Also the directory has international podcasts and pocast dicovery.There is also a search option.But we cant add a new url.
Once you have added the podcats it willbe shown in the podcats folder and you can update the list of latest podcasts.You can download the podcats to your phone and even preview it when you download.

What ever topic you type for finding an answer Wikipedia will be there first with an indepth article.Wikipedia is a fine example of what collabration can bring through.So a wikipedia app is great to have so that you don't have to wait for the site to load and you can easily acess the topic you are looking for.

From the symbian foundation the one which spearheads the devolpment of symbian os has released a useful app that just makes using wikipedia easier.The app shows a stripped down version of wikipeidia so that it loads faster with options for searching and also shows related pages under each articles.The app also saves a history of your sarches and caches it so that you can easily read the page later.

News:Silverlight for symbian avilable

Though Adobe has failed to bring out flash player 10.1 for symbian which brings desktop flash effects to your phone Microsoft has released its flash alternative silverlight to symbian phones.Silverlight is similar to flash and is a .net framework for the web.Silverlight supports videoplayers,animations etc which can spice up your internet experience on the mobile phone.
The silverlight supports only the s60 browser and opera mobile has no support for it.There are two working examples Bing application and HSN application.

I also got Seesmic Web working.Go to http://store.ovi.com/content/46120 to download Silverlight for symbian.All S60V5 devices are supported.

Any one who knows any webapps working please comment i would really like to know.

App Review:Nokia Video Cut-jump to favourite video scenes in a snap

Watching a movie or video in your nokia 5230 has become a lot easier.Nokia video cuts is a new prototype application from Nokia berta labs that allows you to jump from one scene in a video quickly.
The application on installation automatically list all your videos in your gallery,though i got some trouble in getting it to show my new videos as it doesn't have an update option.While playing a video or move  nokia video cut shows a list of key frames at the bottom of your screen.You can select a frame and the video jumps to that frame
instantaneously.How the application decides which all are the key frames is unknown but in my video it did a great job.

Compatibility:
Supported video formats include: H.263 (.3gp, .3gpp, mp4)
Tested on the following devices: Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
Should also be compatible with other S60 v5 touchscreen devices, including Nokia N97 mini, Nokia X6 and Nokia 5230.
